Horse sanctuary Penny Farm has welcomed another arrival - a newborn filly foal.
The baby was born to mother Diane, and now staff at the sanctuary are inviting visitors to help them name the foal.
The mother arrived at the World Horse Welfare farm, on Preston New Road, Marton, last summer as one of 12 horses which had been rescued from unsuitable conditions.
Centre visitor officer Zoe Clifford said: “It’s always great to have foals born at the centre and our new arrival will no doubt be popular with our visitors.
“This is our third foal this year and we have two more mares due to foal in the next few weeks so it will be a busy time.
“As a charity we would urge people who are thinking of breeding to consider all the implications very carefully – foals are a huge commitment of both time and money.”
Bosses have said Diane’s case, which led to a prosecution, is a typical of owners who allow stock to breed then find themselves unable to cope.
Anyone wanting to name the foal should call (01253) 766983.
