Youngsters in northern Blackpool have begun a series of free football training sessions.

The scheme is being run by Blackpool FC Community Trust, under their Kickz scheme, with funding provided by Sandhurst Area Forum and the two Anchorsholme councillors Tony Williams and Paul Galley from their ward budget.

The sessions, which began on Friday evening, will run through the rest of the summer in East Pines Park, on Luton Road, on Wednesday and Friday nights then to an indoor venue close by in the winter.

Coun Galley said: “We wanted to do something for the youngsters in the local area.”
