A North West-based greyhound protection campaign group is set to fly from Blackpool Airport trailing a banner which aims to encourage people not to bet on greyhound racing.
Caged North West will be flying a sky banner over the region on July 27 as part of Greyhound Remembrance Weekend.
The banner will be flown by Air Ads and is set to take off at Blackpool bearing the words ‘Greyhounds –U bet, they die’.
Caged North West also runs the ‘Ban the Bolt’ campaign, which calls for abolition of the destruction of greyhounds by the use of Captive bolt gun.
The group says an online petition has gained almost 100,000 signatures as well as that of several MPs and a number of veterinary surgeons.
