Serving soldiers from Blackpool were honoured at a special reception.

The chairman of Lancashire County Council, County Councillor Michael Devaney, welcomed representatives from Lancashire’s Army Reserve forces, including those from Sir Matthew Fell House, Blackpool.

The soldiers, who work part time, but have served in major conflicts alongside full time colleagues were joined by others from Blackburn, Lancaster, Preston and Chorley at County Hall in Preston.

Coun Devaney said: “It’s important to take time to recognise the sacrifices and dedication being made today by our armed forces.”
