A collision at a motorway junction has led to congestion on the M6 near Preston.

A Volkswagen Golf struck a crash barrier at Broughton around 11.30am on Saturday.

One lane of two is closed on the exit slip road at junction 32 of the M6, linking to the M55 for Blackpool.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but all four occupants were out of the car and no major injuries have been reported.

NW Motorway Police tweeted: “RTC M6 N/B J32 Broughton. Slow moving traffic M6 N/B from J29. There is still 1 of 2 lanes closed on the exit slip at J32 N/B (to the M55).”

The Highways Agency said normal traffic conditions are expected from 3.30pm.
