Blackpool Civic Trust’s 40th annual dinner and awards ceremony will this year take place on Friday, February 27.

It will be held at VIVA, on Church Street, Blackpool.

Guest speaker will be Freddie Gick, chairman of the national Civic Voice and the evening will be compered by Radio Wave news editor Andy Mitchell.

The awards ceremony will see honours given out in several categories, including Best New Build, Best Refurbishment, Best Open Space, Best Shop Front, plus more.

The awards aim to acknowledge those who over the previous 12 months have worked to improve the civic environment of Blackpool. Buildings and Environmental programmes are selected by an independent and qualified panel.

Blackpool Civic Trust patron, football legend Jimmy Armfield, will present the awards.

Following a drinks reception at 6.15pm and the awards presentation, from 6.45pm, there will be a four-course dinner, at 8pm.

After the meal there will be dancing and live big band music.

Guests will have opportunities to have their photograph taken with the showgirls from VIVA throughout the night.

Tickets cost £30. For information or tickets, call (01253) 315162, email secretaryblackpoolcivictrust@hotmail.com or visit www.blackpoolcivictrust.org.uk
