ASDA has launched its Blackpool Community Life initiative aimed at supporting local causes and charities in their good work.
ASDA community life champion Debbie Long announced the first three charities to benefit - Autism Initiative UK, Aiming Higher Blackpool, which provides days-out and support services for young people with disabilities, and The Boathouse Youth which works with socially disadvantaged young people.
Customers at the store are provided with a small token at the point of sale and are invited to place this token into a polling box at the store’s exit. The winning charity will receive £200 and the runners-up, £50 each.
Debbie said: “We hope customers help us get behind our local causes.”
