A WOMAN who achieved national notoriety after she committed a sex act at Blackpool’s memorial to the resort’s war dead has been jailed for her latest outrageous behaviour.

Wendy Lewis also urinated on the seafront cenotaph during the shocking incident last year.

Lewis, of Cookson Street, Blackpool, received a suspended jail term for outraging public decency when she appeared in the town’s magistrates court.

She was also ordered to be supervised by the probation service for a year.

But her past caught up with her after she failed to turn up for appointments and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

After seven months on the run she was finally arrested when police made a forced entry at her flat.

She appeared in the dock at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court yesterday where the bench decided to impose the original jail term of 15 weeks prison.
