VOLUNTEERS have been recognised for their work in the community.

A total of 41 people were nominated for the Fylde Together Volunteer Awards and all were presented with certificates at a ceremony held at Lytham Hall.

Winners from each category were: Best Volunteer Team – the Friends of St Annes Library; Best Volunteer – Roy Stratford of the Lancashire County Council Volunteering Service; Best Fundraiser – St Annes Carnival Queen Rosalie Rothwell, and Good Carer – Carol Gradwell.

Fylde Together manager Jane Williams said: “It was a wonderful occasion to be able to celebrate volunteering in Fylde.

“The awards have been a tremendous success and have demonstrated the amazing commitment we have from local volunteers in Fylde.

“Judging the nominations was an incredibly hard job as the amount of volunteering that takes place is truly staggering and many groups and organisations would not be able to exist without the help of volunteers.”
