Emma, 10, was accompanied by her six-year-old brother Daniel along with retinue members Sophia Thompson, Jolena and Josslyn Wibberly, Jenny Kelly and Bess Morrow and one parent each on a sponsored walk through Blackpool Illuminations from Bispham to Starr Gate.

Emma’s dad Matt said: “The sponsorship money is still being collected but adding up what we think everyone has pledged, we should have raised in the region of £650, which is a brilliant result and surpassed our expectations.”

The next event, including entertainment and supper, planned for the charity is a ladies’ night at the Shillaylee bar, Wood Street, St Annes on November 10.
