FIREFIGHTERS were called to the M55 after a car went up in flames on the slip road.
The car, which police say was unattended at the time, was reported as being on fire at 4.10pm yesterday.
Two fire engines and police were called to the scene, on the exit sliproad of Junction Three at Kirkham.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “We received reports a vehicle was on fire. The fire was extinguished using a hose reel.”
Drivers faced minor delays with one lane closed on the slip road while the fire was extinguished and work to recover the vehicle took place.
