The doggy siblings were abandoned at Pets Paradise pet shop in Topping Street in a pink holdall.

Store owner Paul Parker was just about to close up for the day when the puppies were brought in.

He said: “We only sell birds and fish and I was with a customer at the back of the shop and my friend was keeping an eye on the shop floor.

“Suddenly someone came in with the bag and said they had found it but didn’t have time to deal with them.

“They were on a bike and just cycled off.

“We opened up the bag and there were these beautiful puppies.”

It is believed they are Staffie Cross puppies who are about six weeks old.

They were dumped at about 4.45pm on Wednesday.

Paul added: “It is shameful that they have been dumped but they look well looked after.

“But obviously someone couldn’t cope anymore and didn’t want the commitment of three puppies running about.

“I just don’t know how somebody can do something like this.

“We were just about to shut the shop and I had to delay all my deliveries but my main priority had to be the puppies.”

The puppies are now in the care of Sundown Kennels in Poulton where they have been checked over by a vet.

They are set to be rehomed through the Homeless Hounds charity which will put them on its website for potential new owners to see.
