A Fylde Euro MP is calling on her colleagues to commit to fighting diseases such as HIV and Aids, TB and malaria.
Theresa Griffin is asking them to sign an online petition LetsSaveLives which has been launched this week.
It calls for Europe to work together to increase political financial support for research.
Ms Griffin said: “By signing the LetsSaveLives pledge and supporting the campaign, we call on our political leaders to take action to end the tyranny of these diseases.
“Even a small improvement in the effectiveness of drugs against malaria or TB can have a huge impact on the health and quality of life of young men and women around the world.”
She added: “The LetsSaveLives campaign is urging MPs and MEPs to use the UK’s leading role in this area to make this fight a priority for the EU.”
