A FLAG to celebrate local heritage is well on its way to being raised.

St Annes town council has had its flag approved, and is arranging to have two flag poles put up in the town centre to display it.

It is also arranging to have window stickers, desk top flags and lapel badges made for people to buy.

Town councillor Vince Settle, who is behind the St Annes flag campaign, said local coach company Arrow would soon be displaying the flag on its vehicles, and local businesses were also putting up images of it.

Coun Settle wants everyone in the town to fly their flag, which he called the “people’s flag”.

Anyone who wants to buy any of the flag items, or wants more information, can email vince.settle@btinternet.com
