ANSDELL Primary children got to rub shoulders with a celebrity as they took part in a charity walk for Alzheimers.
Actress Lynda Bellingham took time out from performing in Calendar Girls in Blackpool to join the children as they did a memory walk for the Alzhimers Society.
The children took on the three mile challenge from the school to Fairhaven Lake. And with more than £1,600 raised, the day was a huge success.
Teaching assistant Katie Mallalieu said: “Alzheimers is a cause close to both mine and Lynda’s hearts so we were delighted to organise it.
“The children were thrilled to meet her, they made me really proud on the day.
“It was nice to pull the community together with this event.”
