Staff and management at Blackpool Promenade entertainment venue Viva were toasting success today after scooping a top hospitality award.
They were given a 2014 TripAdvisor ‘Certificate of Excellence’ accolade, which is given only to businesses which constantly receive outstanding traveller reviews.
Venue director Martin Heywood said: “Wow! This is fantastic recognition of the hard work behind the scenes at the venue by our hardworking staff and management, who regularly receive fantastic praise by TripAdvisor reviewers who have visited the venue. Coupled with the fact that we’re also nominated for three Radio Wave Culture and Lifestyle Awards, it’s encouraging to see that the hard work is starting to pay off. I hope people come and see for themselves what a great product we have at Viva, not only for our shows, but for private events and parties, too.”
TripAdvisor uses various formulae and determines the award winners based on reviews, popularity and ratings, with businesses required to achieve a rating of at least 4 out of 5.
He said Viva had enjoyed a six-month spell as Blackpool’s number one ranked attraction in the site and management use the site to respond to customers and feedback constructive information to staff members.
Fellow director Phil Burrows said: “We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to complete a review. We like to take the opportunity to also respond on the TripAdvisor website so we can give a personal reply to reviews whenever we can. We take the feedback on board when there’s been the odd criticism, and improved in areas with more focus on our catering operation, which has seen big improvements over the past five months and we’ll continue to monitor feedback.”
The news comes after the venue confirmed visiting shows from Billy Pearce, Roy Chubby Brown, Joe Longthorne and Betty Legs Diamond would be appearing at the venue over the summer.
