Wyre businesses to face awards limelight

The hunt is on for the best businesses in the Wyre area as nominations are now invited for the Wyre Business Awards.

Last year more than 200 guests gathered to see which of the 100 firms, organisations and individuals entered would win

This year’s event designed to celebrate business success will be held at Marine Hall, Fleetwood, on Thursday,November 24.

The closing date for nominations is 3 November.

Nominations are invited for fourteen different awards that recognise all types and sizes of businesses including individuals.

The main event sponsors are as Regenda Homes, the North West property business and NPL Estates the property management company which runs the enterprise zone based around the former ICI site at Thornton.

New award categories for 2016 include Best serviced accommodation of the Year, Best self-catering accommodation of the Year, Best eating/drinking establishment of the Year, Employer of the Year (nominated by employees), and a Made in Wyre award (locally grown, locally made, locally produced).

Christopher Standish, regeneration and place manager of the Regenda Group said: “We want the great work of local people and businesses to be acknowledged to a wider audience. With a turnover of £50m and a growing portfolio of homes and services we are doing our bit to build a better Wyre.”

The event will be a glamorous Black Tie dinner with tickets available from Marine Hall in Fleetwood.

The organisers said there are a limited number of sponsorship package opportunities available from £50 to £600.
