Worldwide jobs boost for Fylde
A DEAL which secures the jobs of dozens of employees in the Fylde aersopace industry has been sealed.
As millions of pounds are exchanged every day at this week's Farnborough Air Show, a body which represents employees across the coast has entered into a partnership with its counterpart across the Atlantic.
The North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA), flagship cluster organisation for the sector in the UK, has signed the memorandum of understanding with Aro Montral – its counterpart in Montreal, Canada.
The organisation, which helps the supply chain for a number of military and non-military projects on the Fylde coast, will expand operations by opening a new office.
And bosses have now signed a deal with their counterparts in Montreal in Canada, which will secure jobs locally.
There are dozens of companies on the coast which depend on the aerospace industry for their survival.
Martin Wright, chief executive of the NWAA, signed the agreement with Suzanne M. Benot, his counterpart at Aero Montral.
Mr Wright said: "The North West Aerospace Alliance has developed significant expertise in the development and shaping of aerospace supply chains and we are pleased to announce this collaborative agreement with Aro Montral.
"We are both committed to a collaborative approach and look forward to developing a close working relationship to the benefit of both our organisations."
