The demolition of the Queens Park tower blocks will start at the beginning of next month.
Crews will initially work from scaffolding to dismantle those parts closest to other buildings, before machines are used to remove the rest of the structure.
The demolition of the first two blocks is expected to be completed by next March.
Officials will be given a last look at the iconic towers during a tour tomorrow.
Coun Gillian Campbell, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for housing, said: “The Queens Park tower blocks have been an iconic point on the Blackpool skyline for decades.
“To see them go will be quite a shock but we are delighted they will be making way for a high quality housing development that will improve Blackpool’s housing standards immeasurably.”
All five Tower blocks are to be demolished to make way for 198 new homes.
