Civil service unions are to discuss fears over Fylde jobs when they meet with MPs this Friday.
Leaders of the PCS civil service union based at Norcross will hold talks with Wyre MP Ben Wallace and Blackpool North and Cleveleys MP Paul Maynard about the issue.
Branch secretary Duncan Griffiths said they wanted to discuss the possibility of a new strategy to look at civil service jobs on the Fylde following disappointment that hoped for work in relation to disability benefits was going elsewhere.
He said: “Since our local MPs met with the Minister for Employment, it has been confirmed there will not be recruitment on the Fylde and 500 jobs to undertake DLA reassessment work won’t be coming here.
“We believe there should be a review of the decision to close the majority of the DWP Norcross site before the majority of buildings are bulldozed.”
