Whatever the outcome of the 2013 season, the 10th annual Lancashire Tourism Awards will be honouring the best in their field.

Almost three dozen entries across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre are among the finalists for the black tie awards dinner at Blackburn Cathedral.

They will be hosted by travel writer and broadcaster Simon Calder, who said: “The awards celebrate the very best practice in the county, and will inspire other enterprises to even greater efforts.”

The event has been organised by Marketing Lancashire, whose chief executive Ruth Connor said: “This year is the 10th year of this celebration and the awards have been through a major overhaul, with more categories than ever before, a new judging process and a fantastic new landmark venue in Blackburn’s developing cultural quarter.”

Hopeful nominees include Blackpool Pleasure Beach (four), Marton Mere Holiday Village (two), Blackpool Zoo (two), Queens Mansions holiday apartments (two), Cuffe and Taylor Management (two), Sandcastle Waterpark (two), and Toast Cafe and Grill (two).
