Top tourism businesses are gearing up for a big night at a glitzy awards ceremony to honour their achievements over the past 12 months.

The winners of the annual Wyre Stars In Tourism Awards will be revealed at Thornton Little Theatre on Thursday following weeks of nominations from the public.

Judges are currently shortlising entries into seven categories, including Excellence In Customer Care and Event of the Year.

Trophies will be handed out by the Mayor of Wyre Coun Don Lawrenson and special guest Dave Guest from BBC North West
Tonight will also speak at the event.

The Stars In Tourism Awards are organised by the Wyre Tourism Association and Wyre Council as part of the Wyre Tourism Association’s annual general meeting which takes place earlier that morning.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the award ceremony from 11.30am.

They will also be able to browse information stands from the various tourism providers up for awards.
