DESIGN company Think!Creative is setting its sights on expansion after reaping the benefits of FYCreatives – Blackpool’s first business incubator.

FYCreatives is a centre for artistic companies – funded by Blackpool Council’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative – and converted from a derelict retail outlet in Church Street in 2008.

It provides quality office space and business support to enable the growth of creative businesses ranging from marketing, design and web development to photography and video production, and specialist IT services.

Design firm Think!Creative director Paul Hough started out in business four years ago working from home.

Since relocating to FYC two years ago, the company has expanded to employ more staff and boasts an impressive portfolio of clients.

He said: “Having easy access to help and advice offered through varied business support agencies involved with FYC continues to benefit us. We enjoy being based with similar businesses in what is a fantastic creative community, increasingly recognised as a place for quality design advice.

“Staff at FYC go to great lengths to assist, even relocating their existing hot desk area to create an office large enough to accommodate our expanding business.”

Mr Hough’s aim for year four turnover has been hit early - leading to hopes of further expansion. He added: “We’ve taken on a new designer already this year and if the work load continues to grow as it has done, we’ll need to take on more qualified people in the near future.”
