A FOOTBALL club has tied up a two-year sponsorship deal to help it march up the football league pyramid.
AFC Fylde, currently in the Evo Stick North Division, signed the deal with Blackpool-based Bishops Chartered Accountants
AFC Fylde business development manager Martin Booker is looking forward to working with the firm which also has offices in Blackburn.
He said: “They have sponsored our hospitality suite at Kellamergh Park as they see this as an opportunity to raise their profile locally and directly with businesses that use the facilities as match day sponsors and hospitality clients. It’s a fantastic opportunity for both the football club and Bishops and we look forward to working together over the next two seasons.”
The club has its sights set on the lucrative Football League and aims to make its way up the divisions in the next few years.
Formed following the merger of Wesham FC and Kirkham Town in the late 1980s the club has moved on in leaps and bounds following its takeover by Lytham-based businessman David Haythornthwaite.
The side has won the West Lancashire League Premier Division seven times in recent seasons, including four titles in a row between 2003 and 2007, along with the coveted Richardson Cup on five occasions.
The development of Kellamergh Park has helped give it a bigger base and plans are in the pipeline for an even bigger home in Wrea Green.
Andrew Tabernacle, managing director of Bishops Chartered Accountants, said “We are very please to be associated with AFC Fylde and see this sponsorship as a way of getting to meet and help like-minded business owners with the day-to-day challenges of running their businesses in these tough economic times.“
