Blackpool has been named as the UK’s fourth highest rated visitor area in a new survey by website TripAdvisor.
London was voted the top city in the world by tourists according to the popular site.
Trip Advisor ranked tourism destinations based on the number of certificates of excellence each place received from the site in the past year
The certificates are awarded on the basis of quality, quantity and immediacy of reviews by world travellers over a year.
And Britain was broken down to the best cities, with the charts showing Blackpool – which received 351 certificates of excellence – beating Manchester, Liverpool and York.
The resort finished fourth in the UK rankings, behind London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, York and Birmingham made the rest of the top 10. London was also voted top destination in the world for tourists, ahead of Rome, Paris, New York and Barcelona. Sao Paulo, Milan, Madrid, Florence and Prague completed that list.
