A new business launched in January just can’t get enough of the cold.
North West Refrigeration, founded by Craig and Joanne Savage, has found trading conditions anything but cool as they have so much work they are considering taking on staff.
As the summer season approaches and people’s thoughts turn to ice-cream, slush drinks and the need for air conditioning, Mr Savage said the firm’s phone line is red hot.
He said: “ I spotted a gap in the market here in Blackpool. I have worked in the refrigeration industry since I left school and I noticed that some firms offer maintenance for air conditioning, some for cold drinks machines but no-one offers everything under one roof.”
The firm services and repairs beer coolers and brewery drinks cooling equipment, bottle fridges, cabinets, carbonators, soft drinks dispenser’s, slush machines and even air conditioning.
“The past three weeks there have not been enough hours in the day. We are getting machines to repair from Scotland, Ireland and even Italy.”
They have moved into premises at the Sycamore Trading Estate and have teamed up with another small refrigeration Leeming ARC which specialises in air conditioning and cooling.
Mr Savage added: “We are a family-run business offering a service to other family run businesses in the area.”
