MORE than 70 people attended the grand opening of a bespoke furniture showroom.

Room, on Bristol Avenue, Bispham, showed off its unique wares at a gala launch this week.

The firm has experienced major growth in the past 12 months with demand rising for bespoke furniture products.

And bosses called on Thornton’s Twelve Event Management to provide the culinary treats.

Director Steve Dunne told invitees about his firm’s craftsmanship for all areas of the home from kitchens and bedrooms to studies and utility areas.

Mr Dunne studied cabinet making and furniture design at the internationally-recognised centre of excellence, Rycotewood Furniture Centre in Oxford.

He said: “It was wonderful to welcome more than 70 guests to our new stylish new showroom, and for people to see our work in action.

“Chef Paul Moss from Twelve was working in the kitchen chatting about food, kitchens and the FlexInduction hob he was working with – everyone was intrigued to see how it performed.

“Most importantly, guests could experience for themselves the benefits of good furniture design and exceptional craftsmanship - supremely practical but also very stylish.”

Steve launched Room five years ago at www.room-makers.co.uk.

The company provides bespoke furniture making services with full design, manufacture, installation and project management services.

The business relocated to new, larger premises earlier this year to meet rising demand - the company’s manufacturing workshop is located directly next to the showroom.

The showroom opening was also supported by Flower Design and Thornton-based Jonathan Lynch Photography.
