BLACKPOOL is boasting tropical temperatures once more – at one attraction at least.
The resort’s Sandcastle Waterpark re-opened on Saturday following a £607,000 makeover at the attraction on the Promenade.
Around 3,500 people piled into the water park which boasts temperatures of 84 degrees, over the first weekend.
Manager John Child said: “It has been an excellent weekend, with lots of locals coming in and others from all over the North West,
“The new cashless wristbands have gone really well. It means people don’t have to keep going back to the changing rooms to get their money when they want to buy refreshments etc.
“I think people have really missed us while we have been closed for the last three months, and now we are looking forward to the rest of the season being a great success.
“We are a really strong destination attraction for Blackpool.”
The Sandcastle will be open for the next two weeks, then for weekends only, until March 23 when it will open daily for the rest of the season.
