The car designed by F1 race car designer Gordon Murray has been kept secret by TVR’s new owner Les Edgar.

Despite images of a sports car being published on its website, the firm, which is set to build the cars at the Ebbw Vale enterprise zone in South Wales, has not confirmed the design of the new car.

It is expected to be a 200mph, front-engined V8 two-seater, taking inspiration from the famous Blackpool sports cars.

Mr Edgar recruited Guildford-based Gordon Murray to design the car and Cosworth engineering to produce the Ford-based engine.

The unveiling was to be at Mr Murrays headquarters, according to reports in Autocar magazine, with buyers sworn to secrecy. The new TVR project, which was announced in early 2015, has already had more than 350 deposits and it is expected to go into production this year with a predicted public unveiling in September.
