Marks & Spencer Blackpool has strengthened its local team by appointing two new senior members to its Church Street store.
Carl Simpson has joined the store as general manager, while Kelly Merrick has been appointed commercial manager.
Mr Simpson has 22 years’ experience in the retail industry, seven of which were with M&S.
He has previously held managerial roles across the North West in St Helens, Altrincham, Coliseum and Manchester and is looking forward to new challenges in his role in Blackpool.
He said: “I am thrilled to be joining what I can already see is a wonderful team here at the Blackpool store and look forward to meeting and welcoming both existing and new customers.
It’s an exciting time for the store as we aim to make our BIKE 24 charity cycle challenge bigger and better than ever.” He added: “In these last few weeks of the fund-raising drive, we’re calling on our customers to help the us raise as much as we can for these worthy causes.”
Kelly Merrick, who has been with the company for seven years, began her career with M&S Blackpool aged 16 as a shop assistant.
She then completed the graduate scheme at M&S Gemini in Warrington, before returning to the Blackpool store.
