The health club now boasts “world-class” equipment after being kitted out with what are claimed to be the world’s most advanced cardiovascular machines.

The Technogym machines are fitted with UNITY, a state-of-the-art swipe screen cardio console that allows users to surf the internet while working out.

Mr Black told the 180 people gathered for Monday’s launch event: “You have world class facilities with the best gym equipment in the world.”

Mark Leech, senior manager of sport and leisure at Ribby Hall Village, said: “At Ribby Hall Village we pride ourselves on design excellence and quality in our offering to all our members.

“In response to our growing membership numbers, it’s important we offer only the latest and greatest of gym equipment.

“Now we are able to offer an unbeatable, interactive training experience to users of all different abilities and interests.

“The new consoles not only look great, they are the most advanced in the market.

“Feedback from our membership so far has been fantastic.”
