The countdown until the Illuminations Switch-On weekend is flying by – and now event organisers have landed a major sponsor for this year’s Lights spectacular.
Jet2.com, which operates more than 55 flights in and out of Blackpool International Airport each week, has agreed to sponsor the resort’s biggest event of the year.
There are just 14 days left before the sparkling Switch-On and Natalie Wyatt, managing director of Marketing Blackpool, said she is delighted Jet2.com recognise the importance of the event.
She said: “We have the magnificent switch-on concert on Friday with The Script headlining, Eliza Doolittle as special guest and then Jonathan Ross to flick the actual switch.
“This is then followed by Madness on Saturday, a band with such wide appeal that we just know it will be a great gig.
“To now get Jet2.com to sponsor the event is a great addition. Its services both in and out of Blackpool Airport are essential in our work to continue to promote Blackpool as the number one holiday destination. We are very grateful for their support.”
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Blackpool is an important base for us and we are delighted to be sponsoring this iconic event.
“The Switch-On remains an important visitor attraction for the seaside town, making it a winter destination favourite for many of our inbound passengers too.”
