A Thornton site manager has scooped a prestigious award in a national competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.
Keith Edwards gained official recognition for David Wilson Homes North West’s Hawley Gardens development in Thornton, which he runs, with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.
Keith was one of seven David Wilson Homes North West site managers to receive this accolade, including site managers at Montgomery Green, Walton Locks, Richmond Place, Babylon Field, Wepre Green and The Royals.
Barratt Group across the UK scooped a record-breaking 102 awards for quality workmanship, the highest number ever won by a single company since the competition began in 1980.
The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the house building industry.
They are awarded after the construction standard setting body the National House-Building Council carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.
Keith will now go forward to the final round of the competition which will select the best site manager in Britain.
Almost 13,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.
Congratulating Keith, Graham Swann, managing director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “The site manager plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality new homes and that is why we are so delighted with all seven of these national awards.”
