A leading Blackpool business figure has launched his latest venture – an internet TV channel.

Steve Pye, chief executive of Small Businesss, said it was designed to help small and medium sized businesses grow.

He said: “After years of suffering and pain through a recession, small businesses will now be able to access new marketing methods that will generate interest, increase customers and improve their profits. We really want to help and inspire local businesses to embrace new technology and techniques, through a friendly network and easy to access training, to maximise their profits.”

He said it would have more than 200 online training videos including Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Social Media (Twitter,
Facebook, Google +, YouTube, Google Helpouts, Google Hangouts) and Business Networking Event Training will be available to businesses.

And to celebrate the launch, access to the training videos will be free for four days, allowing businesses to sample the quality of training on offer. After this time the videos will only be available by paying a small fee and registering as a member of the TV Platform, accessed via the website (www.small-business.tv) or a phone app. Training will be available “On Demand”, either to solve a specific issue that has been encountered, or as part of a personal development plan to learn new skills.

He said members will benefit from the ability to send and receive business-to-business (B2B) daily discount deals to other members, in addition to exclusive access to a purpose built, Social Media Network for businesses. To encourage the network to grow, there will be an affiliate scheme, with a ‘refer a business’ payment being made to the referring business – the more businesses you bring on board the more you get paid.

The network will host online video conferences via Google Hangouts, on a range of business topics where businesses can ask questions.
