Plans have been submitted to Wyre Council proposing to build 77 homes and create a car park for an Over Wyre school.
The properties, off Birch Grove, Stalmine, will be a mixture of two, three, four and five bedroom homes, with gardens.
The developers, have also proposed to link the housing estate with the neighbouring Stalmine Primary School, on Mill Lane.
This will include creating a 24-space car park with a turning area, and a footpath linking the homes to the school.
Alexis De Pol, director of De Pol Associates, the planning consultancy behind the plans, said: “The proposed housing will provide much-needed homes for local people and will include an element of much-needed affordable housing, the level of which we aim to agree with Wyre Council.
“It is a well thought out plan to create a good mix of high-quality housing that will be designed to integrate with the rest of the village.
“It takes into consideration the needs of the local area and there is no doubt families moving into the new homes will help to sustain Stalmine as a thriving community.”
Coun Ken Jenkinson, from Stalmine Parish Council, said: “If the sewage and drainage can be sorted out then I can’t see a lot of problems with them. It’s where all the rest of the houses are and a school, so will bring benefits to amenities.”
