A group of Fylde Coast friends have put their struggles with t he school run to good use – by forming a new service for hard-pressed parents.

Dr Imran Rahman an eye surgeon at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and Drew Thompson, a Lytham St Annes optometrist, together with their wives have got together to launch Kiddidrop this week.

Kiddidrop.com aims to offer a revolutionary solution to the stressful school run by putting parents in touch with others who can share the drop-off workload.

The new network is being rolled across Blackpool, Manchester and Birmingham, with further regions to be added throughout the year.

The Kiddidrop.com website has been professionally developed to create an introductory service which matches registered parents from the same area who are looking to share the school drop off and pick up, helping ease the school run for them and their child and their child whilst also decreasing congestion and improving road safety around schools.

Dr Imran Rahman, 40, together with his wife Ghazia, 37, an obstetrician and friends, Drew, 35, and his wife Louise , 33, a practising podiatrist, each have two young children and like many families were struggling with the day-to-day school run.

Discussing this common family problem socially, they saw an opportunity to help busy parents up and down the UK.

Drew said: “After the arrival of our second child and our eldest starting primary school, my wife and I we were struggling with the school run alongside our busy jobs. We soon found that we were not on our own and most parents were also in the same boat as us.

“After much research and planning, we came up with Kiddidrop.com and are now very excited to see the service take off and really help parents and children around the country.”

Imran said: “The school run can be quite stressful for everyone so by developing a service such as this, children are able focus on learning at school and parents can concentrate on their work.

“By taking the hassle out of the school drop off and pick up, it will also help for a better home life in the evenings and allow for a better bonding time with our little ones.”

Registration for www.Kiddidrop.com is free, with three further upgrade packages available which each have various levels of background checks for parents.
