Injury exercise device earns Sean an award

Rising star Sean Gallagher, who works on military aircraft programmes at BAE Systems, is a regional winner in the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2012.

The 22-year-old, from Blackpool,won the manufacturing organisation EEF’s North West Region Outstanding Achievement by a Final Year Apprentice Award.

He took on the role of Project Manager for the Innovation Challenge, a national BAE Systems apprentices competition.

His team designed and made a device to help rehabilitation of injured servicemen through bed-based exercise.

The BedFleX product was crowned Make it in Great Britain Challenge winner 2012 at the Best Factory Awards and the team has now applied for a patent for their product.
