A Fylde-based energy firm has announced it is creating up to 100 jobs as it continues rapid expansion plans.

Inenco, based in St Andrews Road North, St Annes, is recruiting new staff for its growing Inenco Direct business.

The new team is being established to support the company’s Liverpool branch, based in the Corn Exchange.

Chief exectutive officer of the Inenco Group, Michael Abbott said: “We are delighted to be announcing this next phase of our expansion plans and creating these new jobs.

“It underlines our commitment to the Fylde coast, creating growth and opportunities for people.

“We are experiencing growing demand across the board, as businesses become increasingly concerned about rising energy bills.

“This demand is particularly strong among the small and medium-sized businesses (SME) sector.

“So we are setting up a new Inenco Direct team in St Annes to help meet this increasing demand.

“They will work alongside colleagues at Inenco Direct’s headquarters in Liverpool and we remain fully committed to our operation there.”

Inenco Group, which was the first company to pioneer energy buying on the wholesale gas and electricity markets, advises some of the UK’s leading companies, such as Marks & Spencer, Matalan and JP Morgan Chase.

Karen Trepte, managing director of Inenco Direct, added: “The business is going from strength to strength and we are delighted to welcome our new colleagues in St Annes to help us meet the strong demand from the SME sector and to fully capitalise on the opportunity this presents.”
