AN ICE rink business which relaunched itself at the start of the year is creating up to 20 jobs.

Sub Zero Cleveleys is set to hold its first job shop event next week after two years in business.

The purpose-built rink is holding an open day to allow anyone interested in working there to come along, find out which positions they may be interested in, and to speak to existing staff about their jobs.

Sub Zero Cleveleys Job Shop will take place on Wednesday between 10am and 4pm.

Greig Appleby, director of Sub Zero Cleveleys, said the business has always worked to the philosophy of employing local people at the rink wherever possible.

He said the job shop was a great opportunity for anyone looking for a new job to pop along and find out more. The jobs will be a mixture of full time, part time and temporary roles to cover the ad hoc events the rink hosts.

He said: “We are delighted to be able to give local people the opportunity to come along to Sub Zero and discover the job opportunities we are offering.

“As we are a Cleveleys based venue we aim to employ staff from the local area as far as possible so the job shop is a great chance for people to come along, see what we are doing here and potentially join our rapidly expanding team.”

A host of jobs will be available, from admin staff through to catering positions and even ice skating coaches!

Greig and his business partner Kenny Hanson put former parent company Sub Zero Leisure Ltd into voluntary liquidation after a legal battle.

The rink is home to ice hockey team Fylde Flyers, older people’s social skating group Young at Hearts and offers skating coaching lessons.
