Peter Jefferson has announced that he will be retiring from Blackpool Coastal Housing (BCH) after seven years as chief executive.

Peter, who established BCH in 2007, will leave at the end of April.

He said: “I have decided it is time for me to move on to new challenges.

“I am really proud of what BCH has achieved in both modernising council housing in Blackpool and improving communities to make them better places to live.”

John Donnellon has been appointed as his successor from his current role as assistant chief executive responsible for the built environment in Blackpool Council.

He said: “I am really excited to be working with the board and the staff at BCH as we take forward the ambitious plans we have for the town.”

The council stressed the changes were not linked to the current court case involving the collapse of balconies at Newby Place, Mereside, which are run by Blackpool Coastal Housing.
