Restaurateur-turned-lawyer Sarah Davis has been appointed to the family law team at Vincents Solicitors after qualifying as a solicitor.
She will be working as part of Vincents’ eight-strong family law team, at both the Preston and Lytham offices.
Sarah (pictured) will deal with issues including advising separating couples on divorce and child support issues, pre-nuptual agreements, trusts and wills, and supporting senior colleagues with cases involving children and care proceedings.
She also volunteers at the Hope Centre, a domestic violence clinic in Preston, providing advice and undertaking legal work to gain injunctions for women and children at risk. Sarah will also act as on-call duty solicitor and provide legal advice to clients following arrest.
Sarah was delighted to be offered the role within the family team. She said: “I am extremely pleased to have qualified and very grateful to have secured a position with Vincents. It’s been a long eight years getting to this point and I will be continuing to learn, working alongside some extremely experienced colleagues in the family law and criminal teams.” Prior to choosing a career in law, Sarah owned and ran a successful restaurant on the Fylde coast, Sassy’s in Cleveleys, for 10 years. After enjoying an A-Level law course at night school, Sarah decided to sell the business with the dream of pursuing a full time legal degree. After completing her course at the University of Central Lancashire in 2009, she was offered a training contact with Vincents.
Partner Mark Mosley, head of the family law department, said: “While new to law, Sarah is not new to business and she has impressed us over the last three years with a quick grasp on the legal concepts, a no-nonsense business acumen and an ability to really connect with her clients.”
