Emergency services and staff have carried out a “major exercise” at Blackpool Airport that saw emergency services called to action.
The airport warned passengers and nearby residents to expect unusual activity on site as part of the drill.
A statement from the airport advised: “Passengers and members of the public should not be alarmed by the activities of Blackpool Airport and the external emergency services.
“Blackpool Airport is legislatively required to conduct a major exercise at least once every two years to meet the criteria outlined by the Civil Aviation Authority.”
Flights were not affected by the activity, which began around 3pm on Tuesday.
