A children’s charity got a welcome boost ahead of Christmas as generous shop workers donated toys and games to them.

Staff from Sainsbury’s, on St Andrew’s North, St Annes, collected second hand goods to donate to Day of Sunshine as part of its Christmas fund raising campaign.

The St Annes-based charity, which the store chose as its charity of the year, raises funds for disadvantaged children on the Fylde coast.

Louise Cryer, dry goods manager at the store, said: “Our colleagues have really got behind us on this as this is our local charity of the year, they do good work for the community.”
