CUDDLY toys were donated to good causes as a new teddy bear store opened its doors.

Build-A-Bear Workshop, the latest addition to Blackpool’s Houndshill Shopping Centre, gave away 50 unique soft toys to nurseries and charities across the resort.

The Stuffed with Hugs project donated the gifts to Blackpool Young Carers, Blackpool Advocacy and Children in Need.

A spokeswoman for Build-A-Bear Workshop, which allows customers to create their own toys, said: “Since the program began in 2001, more than 325,000 teddy bears have been made and donated to children’s causes.

“Stuffed with Hugs partners have included children’s hospitals, The Red Cross, firefighters and police officers, UNICEF, Ronald McDonald House and many other worthy organisations.”
