Aircraft at Blackpool Airport have a new supplier of the nine million litres of aviation fuel they need every year.
National fuel supplier Gulf Aviation has won the contract to supply fuel to Blackpool International Airport, adding to its existing portfolio of regional airport contracts.
Following a competitive tender, Gulf Aviation, Certas Energy’s dedicated aviation brand, was chosen from November 2013.
The deal will see the Warrington-based company provide Jet A1 fuel airport, which offers Jet2 flights to destinations such as Lanzarote, Belfast and Malaga.
Gulf Aviation, which has been supplying the UK aviation market for more than four years, is headed by Alex Murphy.
He said: “Since Gulf Aviation’s inception in 2009, the company has been servicing smaller private and business airfields, as well as flying clubs. While this continues to form the core business, during the past 12 months our scope has extended to regional airports and supplying direct to airlines.
“This latest contract with Blackpool International Airport is a significant win for us, extending our work with regional airports and enabling us to showcase the benefits of working with a specialist supplier with extensive experience of the aviation industry.
“Customer service is always at the heart of our business and a recent rebrand of our parent company Certas Energy reaffirmed our ambition and dedication to the customers and market we serve.”
