Manufacturing companies can apply for a share of 700,000

Fylde Coast manufacturers are being urged to apply for a share of a fund which still has £700,000 to give away.

The Manufacturing Advisory Service has reached its £2m funding milestone in the North West, with money still available to manufacturers.

Following the success of the first Manufacturing Matters North West Conference last September – Manufacturing Matters North West 2014 which takes place on June 25, will mark a £2m funding milestone for the region.

Since 2013 the MAS in the North West has disbursed the cash to support more than 1,600 manufacturers, creating or safeguarding 4,000 jobs in the region.

It is urging companies to apply before the 2015 funding deadline for grants up to£10k that can be invested in improvement projects ranging from sales and marketing strategy and NPD to staff training and working towards ISO 9001.

The conference to celebrate, share and explore manufacturing excellence in the region takes place at the AJ Bell Stadium (formerly Salford City Stadium) on June 25 as part of the International Festival of Business Manufacturing, Science and Technology week.

The event will showcase the full range of support that is available from both MAS and many other business support agencies and is free to attend for manufacturers http://www.businessgrowthhub.com/events/manufacturing-matters-north-west-2014

The line up of speakers includes the likes of Andy Okolowicz of New Balance, James Baker of the National Graphene Institute, and Steven Barr, Head of MAS.

Richard Jeffery, Director of the Business Growth Hub, said: “This year’s conference is an opportunity for manufacturers to see just how much support and funding there is out there. With over £700k still available, we would urge companies to come forward.”
