There’s nothing better on a scorching hot day than lying on the beach at Blackpool watching the world go by...

And now one hotel in the resort has come up with a novel solution to enhance the holiday feeling – and allow guests to cool down during the heatwave at the same time.

Tiffany’s Hotel, which lies just a few hundred yards from the beach on the Promenade, has launched a Beach Butler service.

Beach Butlers can provide guests with a special al-fresco lunch to eat on the resort’s golden sands or transport cool drinks to them at a pre-arranged time.

And hotel bosses, who believe this is the first service of its kind in the resort, say it means guests can fully enjoy the sunshine without having to leave their spot on the beach for refreshments.

Tiffany’s Hotel owner David Johnston said: “We have launched our Beach Butler service in response to the heatwave and can offer our guests various options which we can serve on the sands.

“Our motto here is Enjoy the Difference and we believe that our Beach Butler service is totally in tune with this.”

Treats that guests at Tiffanys’ can request via the Beach Butler service include full afternoon tea with a selection of freshly prepared gourmet sandwiches and pastries.

First to fill the Beach Butler role this week was the hotel’s general manager Howard Crump.

But hotel chiefs say if the heatwave lasts for the summer, there could yet be a call for more beach butlers to join the ranks.
