Malcolm Ireland, head of leisure and licensing at Napthens solicitors, has been named a partner by the law firm.
Malcolm, who joined the firm in 2006 and took over as head of department in 2008, is a key member of Napthens’ leisure sector team.
He has a wealth of experience in acting for clients including pubs, hotels and breweries.
As well as managing the leisure and licensing team he deals with licensing matters including variations, transfers, enforcement, appeals and judicial reviews.
As a partner he will play a more involved role in the strategy and operation of the law firm. His promotion means he is Napthens’ 32nd partner.
Ian Leigh, chief executive of Napthens, which has offices in Blackpool, said: “Malcolm is a valuable member of staff at Napthens and has led the leisure and licensing team successfully for five years.
“Under his leadership the department has gone from strength to strength, growing our client base and developing new staff to help provide a real value added proposition to existing and new clients.
“This promotion is a sign of the value the executive team at Napthens places on him.”
