A Blackpool businessman is hoping to tap into success after being nominated for a national award.
Kevin Preston, who owns the Drain Doctor North West franchise which provides 24 hour emergency plumbing and drainage services is delighted to be a finalist for a national Business to Business award
Kevin, born in Blackpool and who lives in Poulton, has been shortlisted for the bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year awards 2015.
The winners will be announced at a glitzy black tie ceremony hosted by BBC business presenter Steph McGovern on October 1, at Birmingham Town Hall.
Drain Doctor in Blackpool was set up by Kevin in 1994 and he has since grown the business, to employ 21 staff.
The company has been a great success, so much so, that with business partners Nick and Lisa Birtles, he now has seven territories servicing the North West of England from Carlisle in Cumbria to Lymm in Cheshire.
Now, his hard work and dedication has been recognised nationally. Kevin perfectly matches the criteria for the award which states that judges will be looking for a business, which has shown the ability to create great relationships with other local companies delivering a high-quality service, products and savings to their clients.
Being a finalist is no mean feat, as only 20 of the UK’s best entrepreneurs have been shortlisted for the six awards which highlight franchisees that demonstrate a clear focus on customer service and growth.
Kevin said: “I’m very proud to be a finalist for these awards and to be recognised for the work that we do. Drain Doctor is a well-known and reputable brand and we have invested over the years in new and specialist plant and equipment to enable us to handle the most challenging drainage and plumbing projects.
“But it isn’t just equipment which has helped grow the business; we have also invested in our people to enable us to give a quality service on time every time.
“The team is highly trained and all our technicians are fully qualified to industry specification.
He continued: “We are all really looking forward to the awards ceremony and have our fingers crossed that we will be bringing the award back to Blackpool!”
