A company which opened a budget bakery in Blackpool says it had a record breaking first week of trading.
Poundbakery and Poundcafe, opened earlier this month in Church Street, says 7,000 customers visited the store during the first week.
The company is now set to employ a further five members of staff bringing the total number of jobs created up to 30.
Keely Palin, marketing manager at Sayers, the brand behind Poundbakery and Poundcafe, said: “We can’t believe how popular the stores have been with people of Blackpool.
“The feedback has been incredible, whether they are popping in for snacks on-the-go, or stopping for a sit down and a spot of lunch in the cafe.”
The Blackpool store is one of 65 outlets across the UK.
